Sue Hitzmann, founder of the MELT Method, discusses how she evolved her business from the DVD era to an online content platform with recurring revenue. Her main benefits were content flexibility, global access and, of course, a recurring revenue business model.
Digital Video and the New Frontier
Before streaming her content, Hitzmann focused on her DVD sales, book sales and trainer affiliates to help grow her brand, business and methodology. Hitzmann saw the DVD time period coming to an end and in turn focused on finding a solution in the rapidly growing digital video or OTT (over-the-top) space.
As she adapted her content, she was amazed at the flexibility she had with digital video to deliver her methodology. Customers finally had the opportunity to master her self-care technique in the comfort of their own home. As she explains, her DVD customers thought that the content on the DVD was the entire method – all that there was to MELT. However, that was just one program within a whole methodology. Digital video enabled her to expand her offering immediately to her customers, now subscribers.
Variety of Content
Now Hitzmann says, “Doing videos is the most logical and easiest way to access people with robust content and [it] gives them time to watch and rewatch the methodology.”
Hitzmann emphazied, “If you’ve got content, get your stuff streaming and you will instantly grow your business.”
The OTT (over-the-top) platform Intelivideo provides unlocked her ability to regularly upload a variety of content to MELT’s video library. Hitzmann could finally include shorter and longer videos, different health and wellness series, and even more categories like education and diet – all in one place.
Instant Global Reach
Expanding her business by reaching more and more people with MELT Method was Hitzmann’s focus from day one. As Hitzmann researched her options with online delivery, she knew how important a global reach would be for her brand.
Providing instant access to her MELT methodology was imperative, especially in working with her affiliates for growth. This way she is able to grow her markets more quickly and unlock international markets as well.
What’s Next for MELT?
Hitzmann is focused on unifying her digital platform, which includes product sales, live events and more. Much of Hitzmann’s content uses her own products she developed from scratch. It’s important for the MELT Method to be able to sell their products with online subscriptions, something Intelivideo helped to make work.
Growing her subscriber base is also paramount. She has a clear idea who her best market is currently, but she is also interested in branching out to new markets. Redefining who MELT is geared for is an ever-evolving process. Hitzmann continues to add content targeting athletes, ex-athletes, and younger generations.
